Deanna Weber Prine

Deanna Weber Prine is the Research Program Manager for the Learning Policy Center and also helps to manage the Learning Sciences and Policy Ph.D. program.   She received her MPP in Policy Research & Analysis from George Washington University in 2002 and her BA in Sociology with a minor in Education from Whitman College in 1994.  At the RAND Corporation for eight years until 2005, she later took on part-time consulting work with the think tank to assess the Pittsburgh Public School District's after-school and tutoring programs, part of an ongoing interest in the federal No Child Left Behind Act.  Her prior work has focused on national security and terrorism issues, information policy, "policy pipelines" in the states' Race to the Top reforms, and how teaching tools improve learning outcomes.  Deanna holds teaching licenses for Washington and Pennsylvania and has taught the subjects of English, sociology, and social studies in middle and secondary public schools in the states of Washington and California.
