Laura Stelitano

Laura is a first-year doctoral student in the Learning Science and Policy (LSAP) Ph.D. program at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research interests include initiatives, policies, and practices that impact students with disabilities, at-risk students, and their teachers.  Laura began her experiences with education as a Teach for America corps member in Washington DC.  She taught middle school students as a special educator in a first-year charter school, and also worked as a reading intervention teacher in another DC charter school.  Laura then began working as a Research Associate at the American Institutes for Research.  In this role Laura supported school and district staff in implementing intensive intervention and Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks.  Laura also helped to develop resources for practitioners including webinars and training modules.  She earned her M.Ed. in Special Education from George Mason University.
