Hello! I am a first year graduate student interested in early childhood mathematics education, specifically exploring different contextual factors that play a role in a student’s opportunity to learn. I graduated with a B.A in Psychology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio Texas. After taking a year off, I completed a Post-Baccalaureate here at the University of Pittsburgh in the Cognitive Development Department, working with Dr. Melissa Libertus, studying children’s early concepts of numbers and how they possibly contribute to their later math skills. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay here at Pitt to complete my doctoral training, where I will be working with Dr. Heather Bachman.
